Apps people open
every day
Mobile app design for iOS and Android: products that earn a place on the home screen because they are useful, fast and a pleasure to hold.
An app is judged in the first ten seconds and kept for the next ten months. We design for both.
We design mobile products from onboarding to the hundredth session: the first run that gets someone to value quickly, the daily loop that brings them back and the details of touch, motion and platform convention that make an app feel native rather than ported. Design and engineering sit in the same room, so what ships is what was designed.
For products that need to earn a place on the home screen.
Consumer products with a daily use case, services moving from web to mobile, and companies whose existing app has reviews that tell a clear story. Design here is judged by retention, so we start with the loop that brings people back.
- Downloads are fine and day-seven retention is not
- Your mobile app is a shrunken version of the website
- Store reviews mention confusion more than bugs
- You are choosing between platforms and need a design that works on both
What an app design engagement covers
Product definition
The jobs the app does, the one it does best and the loop that makes it a habit. Scoped tightly for a first release.
Flows and prototypes
Onboarding, core tasks and the edge cases, prototyped on device and tested with users before any code.
Interface and motion
A visual system that respects iOS and Android conventions and still feels like your brand, with motion that explains rather than decorates.
Store presence and handover
App icon, store screenshots and copy, plus specifications and a design QA pass on the built app.
How we work
Define
The core loop, the first-release scope and how we will know it is working.
Prototype
Flows on a real phone, in people’s hands, revised until the path is obvious.
Design
Screens, states, motion and the platform details, built from a component system.
Launch
Store assets, handover to engineering (ours or yours) and QA on the shipped build.
What we believe about apps
Value in the first minute
People decide whether to keep an app before they finish onboarding. We design the first session to deliver something real, fast.
Respect the platform
An iPhone app should feel like an iPhone app. We follow each platform’s conventions and spend the brand where it matters: content, tone, motion.
Design for the hundredth session
Delight on day one is easy. We design the daily loop, the notifications and the small efficiencies that keep an app in use months later.
What you walk away with
- An onboarding that gets people to value fast
- A daily loop worth coming back for
- Native feel on both platforms from one design system
- Store assets and a build-ready specification
Questions we are asked about app design
Do you also build the app?
Yes. Our engineering team builds native and cross-platform apps, and the handover is smoother when design and build are under one roof. See App development.
iOS first, or both platforms at once?
It depends on your audience. In the UAE both matter; we design one system that respects each platform’s conventions so both ship from the same work.
How long does app design take?
Six to twelve weeks for a first release, depending on scope. Prototyping and testing take the largest share.
Can you redesign an existing app?
Yes. We start with usage data and user sessions to find what is actually failing, then redesign in priority order rather than all at once.
