What’s inside

  • Production shrinks: Perhaps 50–70% of conventional production work will require far fewer people.
  • Clients do the basics: Clients will produce more basic work internally.
  • The undifferentiated fold: Most undifferentiated agencies will cut prices, shrink, merge or close.
  • Senior talent appreciates: Senior strategic talent will become more valuable.
  • A new hybrid wins: The winning agencies will resemble a mixture of consultancy, product company, systems integrator and creative studio.
  • Owners beat builders: The strongest will own platforms or reusable IP instead of rebuilding everything for every client.

About this insight

For twenty years the agency model has sold hours. Strategy hours, design hours, build hours, invoiced separately and delivered in sequence. That model is about to be tested harder than at any point since the web arrived.

Here is what we expect over the next few years.

For a studio in our position, this is more opportunity than threat, but only if we move decisively. Stealth already has brand, design, technology, hospitality knowledge and client access. The next step is to turn those capabilities into repeatable vertical systems with recurring revenue, beginning with the sectors where we already have credibility.

The dangerous move would be continuing to sell “branding, websites, apps and AI services” as separate menu items. The winning move is selling a measurable business transformation powered by all four.

That is what the platform is. That is what the ventures are. The rest of this site is the evidence.
