Build Service Dubai, UAE
Data people
can read
Data visualisation from Dubai: dashboards, reports and data-heavy interfaces designed so the people using them see what matters and act on it.
Most dashboards show everything and say nothing.
We design and build data interfaces around the questions people bring to them: what changed, why, and what to do next. That means choosing the right chart for each question, ordering a screen by importance, and making tables, filters and drill-downs work for people who live in them all day. Built on your data, in your product or as a standalone tool, in Arabic and English.
For teams with plenty of data and not enough clarity.
Operations and finance teams living in spreadsheets, product companies whose customers need analytics inside the product, and leadership teams whose dashboards nobody opens. The data exists; the problem is reading it.
- Your dashboard has thirty charts and nobody knows which matter
- Two reports give different numbers for the same metric
- Customers export your data to make sense of it elsewhere
- Decisions wait for someone to build a spreadsheet
What a data visualisation engagement covers
Questions and metrics
The decisions each user makes, the metrics that inform them and the definitions everyone agrees on, before any chart is drawn.
Dashboard and interface design
Layouts ordered by importance, charts chosen for the question, and tables, filters and drill-downs designed for daily use.
Chart system
Colour, type, axes, annotations and states defined once, so every chart in the product reads the same and works for colour-blind users.
Build and data connection
Interactive front end connected to your data sources, fast with real volumes, or designs specified for your BI tool.
How we work
Question
Interviews with the people who use the data, and the decisions each view has to support.
Sketch
Low-fidelity layouts with real numbers, so we judge charts on actual data rather than tidy samples.
Design
The chart system and every view, including empty, loading, error and extreme-value states.
Build
Interactive views connected to live data and checked with the people who will use them.
What we believe about data visualisation
Start from the decision
A chart earns its place by changing what someone does. We start from the decision and work back to the data, never the other way round.
Design with real numbers
Sample data is always tidy. Real data has outliers, gaps and long labels, so we design with it from the first sketch.
Plain beats clever
A clear bar chart beats an impressive one nobody can read. We choose the chart that answers fastest, not the one that looks most like data.
What you walk away with
- Dashboards organised around decisions, not data sources
- Charts chosen for the question they answer
- A chart system consistent across the product
- Views that stay fast with real data volumes
- Metric definitions the whole team agrees on
Questions we are asked about data visualisation
Do you build in Power BI or Tableau, or custom?
Both. BI tools suit internal reporting and fast change; custom interfaces suit dashboards inside your product or for customers. We recommend one based on who uses it and how often it changes.
What drives the cost?
The number of views and user types, how many data sources need connecting, how clean the data is and how interactive the result must be. Custom builds cost more than designs for an existing BI tool.
Can dashboards work in Arabic?
Yes. We design right-to-left layouts, decide carefully which charts mirror and which keep time running left to right, and format numbers and dates for each language.
Who can see our data while you work?
Only the people on the project, under a confidentiality agreement. We can work with anonymised or sample data, inside your environment, and the finished dashboards respect your access controls.
What happens when our metrics change?
The chart system and documentation make new views quick to add. Your team can extend them, or we support them on a retainer.
