User research
before you build
User research in Dubai: interviews, usability testing and analysis that show what your customers need and where your product lets them down.
Every product decision rests on an assumption about people. Research tells you which ones are wrong.
Teams usually know their product better than anyone and their customers less than they think. We run research as a standalone engagement: we talk to the people who use your product or should, watch them try to get things done and turn what we see into findings your team can act on. It works before a new product, ahead of a redesign or whenever a number has moved and nobody knows why.
For teams about to make a decision they cannot easily undo.
Product teams planning a redesign, founders testing whether an idea solves a real problem, and companies watching a metric fall without knowing why. Research is cheapest before the build, and most useful when there is a specific question to answer.
- Your team disagrees about what customers want
- A key flow has drop-off you cannot explain
- You are entering a new market or audience
- The last research was so long ago nobody trusts it
What a user research engagement covers
Research plan
The questions the business needs answered, the methods that suit them, who to recruit and what we will produce, agreed before any sessions.
Recruitment
Participants from your customers or matched to your audience, screened for the behaviours that matter, in Arabic and English where needed.
Interviews and testing
Moderated interviews, usability tests on your live product or a competitor’s, diary studies or surveys, in person in Dubai or remote.
Synthesis and findings
Patterns drawn out of the sessions, ranked by how much they matter, with clips and quotes as evidence and clear recommendations for what to do next.
How we work
Frame
What decision the research has to inform, and what you already know from analytics, support and sales.
Recruit
The right participants, screened and scheduled, with consent and incentives handled.
Run
Sessions with your team invited to watch, because seeing a customer struggle changes minds faster than a report.
Synthesise
Findings, evidence and recommendations presented to the people who will act on them, then left with you as a reusable record.
What we believe about research
Start with a decision
Research without a question produces interesting reports nobody uses. We tie every study to a decision the business has to make.
Watch what people do
What people say they do and what they actually do are often different. We favour observing real tasks over asking for opinions.
Bring the team into the room
Findings land hardest when people see the session themselves. We invite your team to watch, so the evidence is theirs too.
What you walk away with
- Answers to the questions your roadmap depends on
- A clear view of where people get stuck and why
- Findings backed by clips and quotes, not opinion
- Prioritised recommendations your team can act on
- A research record you can return to and build on
Questions we are asked about user research
Can we buy research without a design project?
Yes. Research is a standalone engagement. Many clients hand the findings to their own product team; if you want us to design from them afterwards, we can.
What drives the cost?
Mainly the number of participants, how hard they are to recruit, the methods used and whether sessions run in more than one language or market. We price it once the research plan is agreed.
How long does a research project take?
Three to six weeks for most studies, including recruitment, which is often the slowest part. A quick usability round on an existing product can be faster.
Can you research with Arabic-speaking users?
Yes. We run sessions in Arabic and English and recruit across the UAE and the wider Gulf, so findings reflect the people you actually serve.
What do you need from us?
A clear question to answer, access to customers or help reaching them, any analytics or past research you have, and a few people from your team to watch sessions.
