Visual identity
beyond the logo
Visual identity design in Dubai: the typography, colour, imagery, layout and motion that make a brand recognisable even when the logo is not there.
You should recognise a brand with the logo covered. That is the work a visual identity does.
A logo is one signal. The others are the typefaces, the colour, the way photographs are taken, the grid, the icons and how things move on screen. Designed together they make a brand recognisable on a product screen, a billboard and a social post alike. We build that visual language around your existing mark or a new one, and test it on the places you actually show up.
For brands whose logo is doing all the work.
Companies with a mark they are happy with but nothing around it, brands whose look has become generic as the category caught up, and teams launching a product, a campaign or a digital presence that needs a visual language of its own.
- Cover the logo and your materials could belong to anyone
- Your website, social and print use different type and colour
- Photography is chosen ad hoc with no shared direction
- Your brand has no rules for how it moves on screen
What a visual identity engagement covers
Typography
Typefaces chosen or commissioned for character and range, paired across Latin and Arabic, with a scale for headlines, body copy and interface text.
Colour
A palette with primary, supporting and functional colours, values for screen and print, and combinations checked for accessible contrast.
Imagery and graphic elements
Photography and illustration direction, iconography, patterns and any graphic devices that carry the brand where words and logo cannot.
Layout and motion
Grids and composition rules for common formats, and motion principles for how the brand moves in product, video and social.
How we work
Brief
Your position, your audience and the touchpoints that matter most, so the identity is designed for the places it will really live.
Directions
Two or three visual languages, each shown on real touchpoints: a home page, a post, a deck, a sign.
Develop
The chosen direction built out element by element and tested across formats until it holds in every one.
Systemise
Rules, assets and starter templates so the identity can be used by your team from the first day.
What we believe about visual identity
Recognisable without the logo
If the identity only works when the mark is present, it is not an identity yet. We design every element to carry the brand on its own.
Fewer elements, used well
A small set of strong choices is easier to apply and harder to dilute than a large kit. We add an element only when it earns its place.
Designed bilingual from the start
In this region Arabic is not an adaptation. Type, layout and graphic elements are designed for both scripts together.
What you walk away with
- A brand recognisable beyond its logo
- Type and colour that work in Arabic and English, on screen and in print
- A clear direction for photography, illustration and icons
- Motion principles for product, video and social
- Core rules and assets your team can apply at once
Questions we are asked about visual identity
How is a visual identity different from a logo?
The logo is one element. A visual identity is the full set: type, colour, imagery, icons, layout and motion. Many brands keep their logo and need everything around it designed.
Can you build an identity around our existing logo?
Yes. If the mark works, we keep it and design the system around it. If it holds the rest back, we will explain why and suggest what to change.
What affects the cost?
The number of elements in scope, whether typefaces are licensed or commissioned, whether Arabic is included, how much motion is needed and how many touchpoints we design. We fix the fee once the scope is agreed.
How long does a visual identity take?
Six to ten weeks from brief to delivered system, depending on scope. Commissioning a custom typeface adds time.
Who owns the files and fonts?
You own every design file and asset we create. Licensed typefaces are bought in your name so the licence is yours, and we document what each licence covers.
